Warning! Cannabis Sweets Danger

We have been warned about the prevalence of edible cannabis sweets designed to appeal to young people. The sweets are similar to jellybeans, small bottled drinks and chocolate spreads which are believed to be extremely strong. Some have been tested to be fifty times stronger than smoking cannabis.

These sweets have been recorded by police forces across the country with many instances of the bags of sweets being given free to young people and children. Parents, guardians and schools have been advised to be vigilant for these sweets.

A Medical spokesperson said:

“They are a particular danger to inexperienced users due to potential overconsumption. Unlike inhaled cannabis these need to be digested causing a delay in reaction.”

In just once incident thirteen school children were rushed by ambulances to hospital from just one bag of cannabis sweets.

The packaging of the sweets, drinks and spreads are designed to look like any normal sweet wrapper.
