New Premises for Peregrinate School

It became very clear last year that Peregrinate School needed new premises to assist with delivering our new curriculum. Management involved all staff right from the start and then right throughout the planning and building process to ensure everyone’s requirements were met.

Our first task was to source a building. The brief staff gave us was that it had to be bright, in a nice area, with good transport links. After a long search we came across a building that ticked everyone’s boxes. In Maghull, alongside the Leeds Liverpool Canal and with great bus links. Even before we proceeded, we invited all staff and students to have a good look around and to get their thoughts and feelings. Without exception everyone loved the building and location.

Having successfully negotiated with the landlords, the hard work started and we obtained the keys to 41, Liverpool Road, Maghull, L31 2HE. Both floors of the building were a blank canvas and apart from the external four walls the building was empty. Plans were drawn up using staff and students feedback taken earlier in the process, and floor plans were laid out. All builders, plumbers, electricians, decorators, materials, fire alarms, fire doors, CCTV, white goods, were all sourced from local companies.

Our Director Christy, Project Managed the whole massive venture, and his hard work and sleepless nights have paid off as the finished project is most impressive. Staff and students have the workspaces they asked for, communal areas, W.C’s, meetings rooms, shower room, and medical area.

Having now moved in to our amazing new school the hard work involving everyone has been well worth it. Staff and students are happier to have a purpose-built school in such a wonderful location.
