As an additional enhancement and for something a little bit different, Peregrinate have hired the services of Paula Morgan who is the owner of Hatha Hands Yoga, Relaxation & Meditation Classes. Learners attended their first classes with a bit of trepidation as it was clearly a step into the unknown for most. Paula quickly had the students at ease and enjoying some gentle Yoga exercises with a relaxing meditation session at the start and at the end of each session. Learners were amazed at how relaxed and ‘chilled’ they all felt after each lesson. Peregrinate have agreed to employ Paula on a weekly basis and we are sure our learners will benefit greatly not just by increasing physical and mental health and strength but by the periods of relaxation and meditation.

The benefits of Whole Yoga are huge. Yoga has a positive effect on the body’s systems, yoga practice increases strength and tones muscles, increases flexibility, stimulates our circulation.

Yoga helps correct poor posture and alignment. It helps to strengthen and nourish the spine. Yoga develops suppleness and increases joint mobility. Our abdominal organs receive a massage and blood flow is increased.

Yoga stabilizes the nervous system, by reducing anxiety and stress. It regulates hormonal production and improves the function of the glands. Yoga practice removes toxins from our bodies through the lymph nodes. By controlling our breath our lungs become purified, therefore work more efficiently.

Yoga increases clarity of the mind and aids concentration, it helps our memory and increases self awareness. Yoga practice along with pranayama (breath control) brings calmness to the body and mind. It also provides an inner strength and ability to manage difficult situations with more confidence, clarity and grace.
