We Support Families With Free School Meals Over Half Term

Like most people in this country we were astounded to wake up this morning to find out that our Government had voted NOT to provide food vouchers to struggling families in order to feed their children over the half term. As staff arrived at school this morning we all decided to do something about it and quickly sprung into action!

We have done a huge shop and made welfare packs to cover the breakfasts, lunches and snacks that we would usually provide our learners on a daily basis.

Staff worked hard to buy, sort and pack this massive shop to ensure we would be able to give each of our learners sufficient food for the week when they leave us tomorrow.

After we had worked out how many food parcels we required to cover our own learners we realised that we have more than we need. We used social media to ask if anyone knew families who may be worrying about feeding their children throughout the half term and having one of these parcels dropped off  could go a long way.
