02 Jul We Can Now Recruit Years 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11 Learners
Peregrinate have successfully expanded to accept Years 7 & 8 Learners
Recent expansions have now allowed us to recruit Learners from Years 7 and 8. We already have several Year 7 and 8 Learners who have settled in well and have regained the desire to learn.
It is so rewarding to see these Learners realisation that Peregrinate is different from school and our culture and more relaxed atmosphere and smaller class sizes quickly rewards them. One of our Year 8 Learners on his first day told us on the way home that he could feel the stress leaving his head. The following day he was so much more relaxed that he fell asleep on the way home having done a full day of studying. We actually had to wake him up outside of his house.
So successful has this new program been in the first couple of months after joining Peregrinate one 12 year old has already passed mock exams in English and maths. Our goal for all the Year 7 & 8 Learners is to get them up to Level 2 qualifications by the time they leave us in Year 11 which are the equivalent of GCSE’s.
These younger Learners are keen to prove themselves and take an active part in classes. One even read part of a poem in front of over sixty guests at our recent Celebration of Achievement open day. It is significant the the young learners have 100% attendance which is proof that they are enjoying their new environment and classes.
The older Learners have adapted well to the younger Learners and all have taken them under their wings and really looked after them. The older Learners share their experiences with them and underline the Peregrinate culture for Learners to Inspire, Enjoy, Achieve, Succeed. The younger Learners enjoy this as it helps them settle in very easily. It also encourages and reassures them to get the aspiration to learn again and fills them with ambition as they see the older students working hard each day.
