Intranet Providing Live Attendance Data & Student Records

As part of our continuous improvement program, last year, we developed an Intranet site to run alongside and support our Internet site. The Intranet my.peregrinate.school is designed primarily for our staff and learners as a single point of reference library enabling centralised access to tools and information, mock exams, shared documents and templates, work management, calendars, contacts, policies, procedures, process and applications etc.

my.peregrinate.school has replaced filing cabinets and boxes, different devices and memory sticks with one centralised location for all school requirements and is a vastly more efficient way to manage information, documents and important learner records.

Included in our continuous improvement program we have completely overhauled our attendance register procedure, process and distribution. The Department for Education requires all UK schools to record each students attendance twice a day using twenty very carefully itemised recording marks. We did not alter the format of the attendance register but completely revamped and updated the formulas behind the register, resulting in automatic twice daily emailing of the register to schools and councils as well as twice daily automatic publishing register data online, to our intranet site. This provides the schools and councils who finance our students with LIVE attendance data and documentation of their individual students and offers a secure means of providing this data as access requires the use of Usernames and Passwords.

As well as publishing LIVE data our enhancements to the attendance register includes a central student record page which automatically publishes the register internally each week, a school contact page which determines which students attendance record is emailed to which school or council. Finally, the improved system allows us to immediately interrogate the attendance register for a specific student or date providing detailed data of student attendance.

Peregrinate School have made our intranet available to our schools and councils to access this LIVE data all of whom have been delighted with the additional information this provides about their own students.
