Record Number of Qualifications For Our

Celebration of Achievement

Sadly, this year, due to COVID-19 restrictions we have not been able to hold our Celebration of Achievement & Leavers Ceremony. This has not prevented us from celebrating the huge success of our students who have continued to work hard throughout the last eighteen months and have recorded a record number of qualifications despite the difficult circumstances. So far our learners have achieved a massive 222 qualifications with several more still being marked by different exam boards. For a school of just 30 students and around 50% not of a leaving age in JULY 2021, this is a massive achievement.

We have all experienced disruptions to our lives throughout the various lockdowns. Our students have spent many months away from school and been forced to work  and study at home. Our teachers have worked exceptionally hard to ensure that each individual students progress and development was not affected. We achieved this by speaking to each student at least once a day. During these conversations we were assessing the individual progress with schoolwork, their own physical and mental health throughout lockdown and how their families were coping physically, mentally and if there were any problems feeding their children.

Peregrinate School put in place a series of support and teaching tools designed specifically for the individual students needs. We offered home schooling where work was dropped off and collected every day. We utilised online classes where lessons were taught over Zoom meetings and we also used out own intranet site my.peregrinate.school, where students could utilise our own library of support documents, lessons and self-marking mock exams which allowed the students to be able to judge their own progress as well as providing a true set of progress data for teachers and administrative staff.

We are both delighted and very proud to say that the hard work has paid off as our students have achieved record qualifications despite COVID-19. Taking everything into account our success rate this year is remarkable. Students have achieved qualifications in English Level 1, 2 & Level 3, Maths Level 1, 2, & Level 3, Retail, Construction, Working Safely and Personal Growth & Wellbeing:

As a reward for our learners hard work and dedication in exceptionally difficult circumstances we have gone on several field trips. More information on these trips can be found here

So, despite not being able to have our usual Celebration of Achievement and Leavers Ceremony, our learners have not missed out and have instead enjoyed many days out on field trips in reward for their hard work.
